July Family Hike in Keystone Gulch

After church today we went for a light duty family walk up Keystone Gulch. We went up about 2 miles and turned around. The kids all scrambled around on logs, each managing to fall off a time or two. We threw rocks and Dallin brought his slingshot and slung rocks and pine cones at the creek and trees. The afternoon drizzle weather pattern was in full effect, so we had some passing clouds and drops to contend with.

Keystone Gulch is one of the roads I run on for training, and the lower part is fairly shallow in angle/grade, but it gets a lot steeper about 4 miles up and eventually goes over Keystone Mountain, passing the Outback Area of Keystone Mountain Resort.
